Molecular biology: basic concepts. Biological data flow, access and search strategies of biological databases,  Biological sequence alignment algorithms. Pattern recognition methods. Data structures (suffix trees, decision trees, graphs). Example problems and applications (protein secondary structure prediction, protein classification, gene identification).
