Dersin Amacı

With the application studies, students are able to make repairs within all kinds of ceramic forms and restoration criteria. In particular, the stages required for the transfer of historical findings to the next generations are transferred to the students through practical studies.

Dersin İçeriği
The definition and principles of restoration constitute the basic content of the course.

The methods used for restoration, conservation and transfer to future generations are being investigated by reducing the damage of soil and underwater historical finds to the minimum.At the same time, applications are made on glazed and unglazed ceramic parts, papier-mache works

1 General principles and definition of restoration.
2 Works of conservation and restoration in ceramic artifacts derived from soil and under water.
3 Points to be taken care of in ceramic restoration.
4 Steps of ceramic restoration.
5 The information that should be included in the ceramic restoration report.
6 Venice restoration statute.
7 Determination of any glazed ceramic form. Ceramic surface cleaning processes. For the restoration of glazed form, the form is broken and some parts are reduced.
8 Bonding the rest of the broken pieces to each other for restoration.
9 Repairing the parts remaining on the form surface with plaster and making it whole.
10 Stages of file preparation for working.
11 Identification of any form from unglazed red mud. Decomposition of some parts by breaking the form for restoration of unglazed form.
12 Gluing the rest from forms shaped with red mud. Repair of empty parts of the form surface with plaster.
13 The file stages to be prepared for the work done.
14 Overall assessment of students about file delivery and work done.
