Dersin Amacı

The aim of this course is to teach students  the generation of seismotectonic, tectonic, geomorphologic, geologic, hydrogeologic maps, graphs and charts using Generic Mapping Tools (GMT), ArcGIS, and MapInfo programs. Setting up data bases and extraction of information and reports using GIS programs. Generation of 2D and 3D models from various data sets.

Introduction, What are geographic information systems and fields of application in geophysical engineering, Instructions about installation and installation of GIS programs, Map generation using GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) program, Introduction and installation of Arc-GIS and Mapinfo programs, Data display functions, Map generation and statistical analysis with Arc-GIS program, Questioning and reporting of geographic data, Introduction of statistical programs used in seismicity studies, Introduction to hazard analysis and basic programs used in these analyses, Introduction and use of Zmap package program, Fault plane solutions and their mapping, Resolving near field seismic analysis with packet programs, Ability to make comments by bringing the samples together from all the works
