Dersin Amacı
Urbanization and the squatter’s housing is a sociological fact. There a need of new strategies for social work in this concept. The purpose is to analyze urban and squatter’s housing areas in regard of social work and to develop new strategies related to this area.
Dersin İçeriği
In this course, the event of urbanization, problems emerged with urbanization and versatile social work interventions (in individual, group and society level) for these problems will be investigated thoroughly. Primarily, emerge of urbanization with industrial revolution and its journey in Turkey and in the world will be studied. Then, the problems that directly related social work and urbanization will be reviewed and squatter’s housing problem will especially be focused on. Finally, possibilities and opportunities of a persisting urbanization will be discussed considering social policies and social work interventions in individual, group and society level for the population that are affected negatively from the events of fast and distorted urbanization will be reviewed.
