In this course, what are the main sources of Ottoman history, characteristic of each sources learning of how to use these sources in different periods

In this course, we will focus on historical values of Ottoman main sources such as chronicles, archives, muhimma daftars, court registers and the other mateials.

2 - Apprehending main linkage and relation between source, knowledge and historian. Apprehending of how researcher approach the sources limits of subjectivity and necessity of being objective. 3 - 2 - 1 - A -
3 - Which differences may occur between the period’s mental characteristic which sources belong to and the same characteristic of modern researcher and how the differentiate this characteristic 1 - 2 - C -
4 - Necessity of introducing of subjective side of the writer which source belong to and researcher, otherwise emphasizing that writer’s subjective view may be thought to be real instead of objective information. 2 - 1 - A -
5 - To emphasize to value of Turkish and world history works, in terms analyzing, usage, and knowledge added to existing ones on the base of works. 1 - 3 - C -
6 - To emphasize similarities and differences between sources of the Ottoman history and sources of European and Asian history. To display that contradictions in the sources mainly depend on subjective interpretations. 1 - 2 - 3 - A - C -
