Dersin Amacı

The aim of the course: the art of Turkish and world music is a conscious way of learning the history of intrigue. History, literature, sociology, philosophy, human sciences, such as benefiting under the terms of other areas music, promote awareness, learn more this way of thinking and knowledge on materials and products to reach the extraction of art events provide opportunities to recognize, to gain the depth information of Turkish music, contemporary music.

Theories of the beginning of music and in the light of these theories, evaluating music as a phenomenon; comprehending the understanding and usage of music in Turks and in other ancient civilizations; Ancient Greece from the perspective of the musicology; Theories of Music from Farabi to Safiyuddin starting with the ´Eastern Enlightenment´ trigerred by Islam; Turkish sufism from Horasan to Anatolia; music and sema; Turkish-Islamic school of arts and music Horasan-Herat and Meragi; music in the western medieval age; tendencies to poliphony in the West and ars-nova; periods and masters in European music; Ottoman school of music in XVI. century onwards and glorious royal music(mehter); Ottoman period composers and music; abolishment of mehter and tendency to European music; nationalism in the West and the new era of music the world has entered; prominent national music schools in the world; XX. century music from the perspective of music technic; polyphonic music in Turkey and Turkish Five
