Dersin Amacı | To understand the drivers of regional and international integration and Turkey´s place in these efforts. |
Dersin İçeriği | International integrations which emerged in the second part of the 20 th century in order to solve the problems of individual countries in the international economical and political arena is a widely debated phenomena. The integration efforts from the east to the west, from the north to the south caused to the political and economical as well as social behaviours of the countries either in domestic or international governance. What are the drivers of regional and international integration? Following an introduction to theoretical and policy debates about regional and international integration, we will analyze the historical development of the integration efforts, focusing on Turkey’s position. Turkey is a member of OIC and canditate to EU. We will evaluate in this course the advantages and disadvantages of Turkey’s position as well the social, political, and economical impacts from the sociological perspective. |
