Week Course Topics Preliminary Preparation
1 Introduction to design softwares (i.e. SolidWorks), describing menus and icons planes, starting sketches on these surfaces
2 Application of two dimension sketching technique, line diameter, arc and rectangle drawing
3 Proper drawing of two dimension figures with the joint of base geometric figures
4 Fillet, mirror, central pattern, copy and move applications in two dimension sketching
5 Making Solid model with xdrudecommand from two dimension sketch
6 Making indent with utcommand in solid models
7 Making solid model with weepcommand which is a section fallowing a path
8 Modifying solid models with fillet, chamfer, polar and rectangular array
9 Transition to mechanical system from parts, different mechanism, describing parts for assemblies like bearing, bolt, pivot and spring
10 Transition to mounting from solid parts, Concentric, surface, edge mates for determining position of parts within assembly
11 Gear mounting; inserting and using standard parts like bearing, bolt, pin from tool box within assembly
12 Exporting designed parts and assemblies to drawing module to get projection views according to technical drawing rules
13 Simulation of mounted parts
14 Stress and fatigue test of parts and assemblies under load in analysis module

1 Students gain an advanced and contemporary knowledge and practical skill after general or vocational high school qualification. 4 To gain theoretical and practical skills in joining of metallic materials, implementing quality control in welded structures and to give training on these subjects. X
5 To obtain an adequate theoretical knowledge and practical skills on oxy-gas, electric arc welding and brazing techniques and to use these techniques in teaching and training in vocational schools. Tracing any faults of welding machines and providing for necessary maintenance and repairing. X
6 Students have an adequate knowledge to offer solution for problems arising during welding of ferrous or non-ferrous materials and also provide suitable methods for welding. X
7 Students gain skills for technical communication and team work with his/her colloquies and superior on subjects related to his/her teachings such as design and practice. He/she has an ability to use Turkish language effectively in his/her personal or official communication.
