The aim of the course is to have knowledge about arbitration and alternative dispute resolution methods, to learn the basic concepts and to understand the background for the evaluation of special cases.

The diversity of the problems that emerged with the developments in science and technology and the rapid development of economic and social relations have led to the necessity of seeking fast, effective and permanent ways to solve these problems. The resolution of disputes in the field of private law by independent and impartial arbitrators and by judicial means is called arbitration. Alternative means of dispute resolution refers to all kinds of solutions that serve to eliminate the existing dispute other than judicial ways, aim for satisfaction and compensation, do not involve force, generally with the participation of impartial third persons or persons. In the course of Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, arbitration and alternative remedies will be examined in terms of their differences from court settlement, their characteristics and results regarding the resolution of the dispute.
