Course Objective

The aim of the course can be summarized as follows:

-Giving detailed information to students about the structure and operation mechanisms of semiconductors,

-To develop the theoretical knowledge background of students regarding key circuit elements such as diode, BJT, MOSFET and amplifiers,

-To give the concept of modeling, to introduce tools and measurement possibilities for modeling,

-To provide models of elements such as diode, BJT, MOSFET with their applications.

Semiconductor basics

Device fabrication concept

PN and Metal-Semiconductor junctions

Overview of diodes

BJT transistor

MOS transistor

Amplifiers

Modeling of the junction diode, SPICE diode model 

Modelling of the BJT, EM1 EM2 and EM3 models, advanced models

MOSFET models: SPICE Level-1, Level-2, Level-3 and Level-4 models
