The meaning of astronomy, basic concepts, units in astronomy; branches of astronomy, historical development; Contribution of different civilizations to astronomy, tools used in astronomy; Solar system, solar system models from past to present, movements of the earth, moon and sun; Keppler's laws, time-calendar-seasons, elements of the solar system, stars, the sun as a star, the sky coordinate system, constellations, galaxies, the milky way galaxy, the universe and the structure of the universe, the formation of the universe and the universe models from the past to the present, space technologies and their reflections on daily life.
