Dersin Amacı It’s important for to realize effective science education that every instructors, especially aimed to be master in the field, should know teaching and learning methods, paradigms, strategies and related research in this field. This course aimed to let students to learn theoretical foundations about instructional methods and basic skills to apply them.
Dersin İçeriği Important factors in science education: learning outcomes, instructors, learning environment and student. Researches affect the way of science education. Individual differences in science education (cognitive and affective). Learning styles and modalities. Epistemological foundations of acquisition of scientific knowledge. Instructional methods in science education: history, paradigms and methods overview. Objectivist and constructivist approaches. Important concepts in science education: problem solving, cognitive apprenticeship, active learning, generative learning, higher order thinking skills. Discussion and general evaluation.
