Course Objective

The new interpretations on Qur’an will be introduced to the students, through the required readings on recent Qur’anic exegetical selected texts.

Course Content

Various topics will be selected from recent period Qur’anic exegetical texts and these contemporary scholars´ treatment to the same topic in their exegesis will be discussed. Major works we will be dealt with are: Reşid Rıza, Tahir b. Aşur, Mahmud Hicazi, Seyyid Kutup, Mevdudi, Zuhayli, Sabuni, Ateş and Elmalı.
