Dersin Amacı

: This course discusses the changes in the relationship between state and society in the Middle East and the prospects for its development in the future. Its importance that we can analyze the dilemma, the ability of the Arab Spring’s waves to Regine off the dominance of the nation-state and launch a new era of political systems.

Dersin İçeriği

This course covers many issues in the evolution in relationship between the state and society in the Middle East, especially since the emergence of the nation-state in the region, post-liberation from colonialism. The theoretical approach depends on the political science theories that appeared in the 50th‘s the past century.

 This approach explains the changes in political systems and its influences on the state’s society relations all over the stages of transformation, we will follow a comparative approach to analyze the diverse experiences in a number of countries.

The course concerns with civil-military relations, and the power of civil society, and the political role of tribal systems, there is a special focus on the analysis of the wave of "Arab Spring" and its reversal on the emergence of the current conflicts, whether its lead to building a new political system.
