| Dersin Amacı | This course aims to provide a historical analysis of the Middle East region. The Middle East has been one of the world´s most geo-strategically, geo- culturally, geo-economically and geo-politically important region in history.it has been home to many different civilizations since the beginning of the history. As a result of that it has been a field for the struggles between the great powers who aimed to dominate the globe. furthermore the Middle East has become a place for the events which has determined the global economic and political developments. For that reason global powers usually struggles through this region in order to gain an upper hand on others. |
| Dersin İçeriği | In this course the main features of the Middle East, general historical developments, the political structure, economical structure and cultural structure of the Middle East will investigated. The definition of the region and it´s political structure will be analysed. Following that the importance of the region for Turkey and the international politics will be examined. Furthermore the Middle east in pre-modern era will be discussed. Than it will be focused on the western hegemony and the local reactions against this hegemony in the region in the modern era. Finally the importance of the Middle East for the global powers will be discussed together with their policies towards this region. whereas some informations about the regional countries will be given. And the recent developments in this region will be discussed. |
