Course Objective | Purpose: To learn and practice about ophthalmic emergencies and common ophthalmic diseases. To learn aboutt the terapies of diseases which they will have to handle in primary care. Targets: · Direct/indirect light reflex, ocular movements, alternate cover test, confrontation, near-distance measurements of visual acuity, dischromatopsy, relative afferent pupil defect, red reflex examination, using direct ophthalmoscopy Acute and chronic vision loss, refractive error, diplopia, leukokoria, epiphora, lacrimation diagnosis.To assess acute and chronic vision loss and investigate the link between sistemic diseases and ophthalmic signs. To plan the interventions and therapies to acute and chronic vision loss. To perform the first intervention to the chemical and mechanical traumas. To learn about red eye diseases and the interventions in emergence conditions. To diagnose common intra- and extraocular tumours. To realize the importance and therapy of amblyopia, prevention of diseases which causes strabismus and refractive errors, in the early childhood. To learn about eye problems which may develop in preterm babies.
