Today, with the extraordinary advances in technology, a large number of different types of storage media and tools have become available. Massive amount of data related to natural, social and human sciences, life and health sciences, education and daily life can be obtained through those tools. The internet, mobile connectivity, digital video and image recording devices are part of everyday life, bringing ceaseless data increase in every aspect of daily-life.
Human perception capacity is shaped by sensory organs, psychological and intuitive processes and mental calculations. Data visualization provides the necessary methods and tools for transforming useful information by appropriately evaluating complex and gigantic data of various fields as a research field aiming to increase human perception capacity with good visual coding and to support analytical thinking and decision making processes.
In the course of data visualization, students will be able to apply the necessary tools to prepare effective visual content in any kind of academic work such as presentation, report, thesis, article and book as well as the theoretical background of visualization.
