Course Objective

Students are expected to learn basic concepts of chemistry and nano polymer science with research methodology in the field. In this course,  the synthesis, properties, processing and analysis of nano technology polymer based materials and polymer composites will be described.

Course Content

Introduction to nano technology and polymer science, classification of polymers, polymerization degree, polymerization reactions and nano polymer synthesis, condensation and free radical polymerization reactions, chemical and physical properties of nano polymers, charcaterization tehcniques of nano polymers, stereochemistry of polymer structures, forces between polymer chains, structure property relations, nano polymer composites with specific fillers, polymer blends, block and grapht copolymers, inorganic polymers
