Course Objective | The primary goal of this course is to give students comprehensive information about American foreign policy in the post-Cold War period. |
Course Content | The course covers a variety of topics in American foreign policy: American foreign policy tradition, the change and continuity in American foreign policy, the emergence of the USA in global politics, a comparison of the Truman doctrine with the Monroe doctrine, the development of presidential doctrines on foreign policy, the effect of lobbies, public opinion, Congress and bureaucracy on foreign policy making, the effect of the developments after the Cold War on US foreign policy, and September 11 and its effects on US foreign policy. |
