Course Objective | The main purpose of this course is to enable students to have a qualitative research and to learn the basic features of the research design so that the students can have an independent ability to continue their scientific work. To examine the stages of the qualitative research process in this framework (the place and meaning of qualitative research in social theory, epistemological background, problem determination, conceptualization, data collection, analysis of data, interpretation and writing) to enable students to conduct qualitative research on a specific topic. |
Course Content | Throughout this course, it will be focused on the definition of qualitative research and its place in the scientific research tradition, the features and types of qualitative research (biography, phenomenology, ground theory, ethnography, case study, discourse analysis), the design of qualitative research and its planning, the creation of research questions, data collection methods and how to analyze data. |
