Dersin Amacı The objectives of this course are to teach an basis of group theory, and its chemical applications to molecular orbital theory, vibrational spectroscopy, crystal structures, and ligand field theory.
Dersin İçeriği Molecular symmetry, Symmetry Operations and Symmetry groups. Group theory and the definitions, multiplication tables of groups. Representations of groups, similarity transformations. Matrix representation of Symmetry Operations. Irreducible representations and character tables. Molecular vibrations, normal coordinate analysis. Energy diagrams of molecular orbitals.
