Dersin Amacı

Aim of this course is to teach to Industrial Engineering students engineering materials and their structure and mechanical behavior and manufacturing properties. Besides, understand the manufacturing technology, the process of transformation of raw materials to products. Also, give knowledge about fundamental principles of manufacturing process and resources planning within the scope of the course.

This course consists of following topics; basic knowledge about manufacturing materials, characteristics of manufacturing materials in manufacturing, metal casting technology, shaping methods, sheet metal workings, machining, joining methods, modern manufacturing methods, machine tool, workpiece, workplace, process, process characteristics, factors affect manufacturing processes, cost components in manufacturing, occupational safety in manufacturing.
