Dersin Amacı In the developing industry, gas metal arc welding (GMAW, MIG), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW, TIG) welding has an important place in current industrial areas. The students graduated in this department possibly will be technical teacher in technical and vocational school that the students are getting trained for industry. Therefore, they need to know about those subjects both practical and technical. Thus, the aim of the course is to give the student confidence in doing the welding as practical and knowing as technical.

1 Theoretical: Introduction to Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG/MAG). Introduction to the welding equipment for Gas Metal Arc Welding. Usage considerations and safety.Practical: Introduction to the welding machine and other equipments, showing and use it.
2 Theoretical: Shielding gases used in gas metal arc welding. Practical: Welding of plates that are different thickness filler welding, internal corner welding in horizontal position.
3 Theoretical: Wire electrodes used in GMAW and selection of electrodes. Practical: External corner welding in horizontal position single-V butt welding in flat position welding in horizontal position.
4 Theoretical: Metal transfer across the arc in GMAW short circuiting transfer, globular metal transfer, spray transfer, pulsed spray transfer and selection of metal transfer.Practical: Butt joint in horizontal position, lap joint in horizontal position.
5 Theoretical: Welding process variables in GMAW and preparation of weld grooves.Practical: Welding in vertical up position, butt welding in vertical up position, V groove welding in vertical position.
