Dersin Amacı | The module proceeds to an in-depth analysis of the famous battle of Mantzikert between the emperor Romanos Diogenes and the sultan Alp Arslan. The event is regarded as a turning point in Medieval history. The heavy defeat of the imperial army opened the road to the great expansion of the Seljuk Turks into Asia Minor and gradually lead to the collapse of the Byzantine Empire |
