Dersin Amacı | To ensure to understand whether Classical Turkish literature that always accepted poetry literature, didn’t consist of just poem. To ensure to understand that firstly teszkires, like seyahatnȃme, etc. Literary types and subjects have an important place in this literature. Also, to emphasize the importance of prose in our classical culture through the examples of history, dictionary and divan prefaces which were written in a prose style. |
Dersin İçeriği | To review the proses which were written since the beginning of the 13. century; to discuss the characteristics of the language of the period; the influence of Arabic and Persian on Turkish; to analyse the words and concepts taken from Arabic and Persian; to read selected texts from works, such as Tevarih-i Al-i Osman, Battalname, Danişmendname, Tazarruname, which were written from beginning of the 13. century to the end of 15. century; to introduce the important works of its time and the following periods; the change of prose acording to the centuries. |
