Special Acceptance Conditions
Conditions and vacancies regarding the T.R. Citizens and Foreign Students who will be accepted to the Master's program in Middle East Studies are announced by the Middle East Institute on (www.ortadogu.sakarya.edu.tr) webpage before the start of the academic semester, through the proposal of the related Department/Art Major heads, the supplemental decision and the approval of Senate.
For the citizens of T.R.;
-Candidates must get at least "65" points from the declared Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies Exam (ALES) score type for the master's degree programs.
-A minimum score of "60" from Arabic or English YDS or an equivalent score from a foreign language examination accepted by the Interuniversity Board.
Evaluation of achievement in admission to the Master's Program:
50% of the ALES grade, 25% of the science exam grade, and 25% of the GPA.
Written exam and an interview are conducted as an admission requirement to Master's Programs. Candidates who are below the "50" score on the science exam on a scale of "100" and who fail to take the science exam are deemed unsuccessful and cannot be registered. No make up exam is held for the science exam.
The graduation note (the grading system used by the university) is evaluated according to the grading schedule determined by the CoHE, except for the "4" system.
For foreign nationals;
Foreign student quotas are limited to "one" students per program. The quota may be increased if EABD department requests.
Applicants must have an undergraduate or graduate GPA of at least "2.50" in the "4" grading system.
Foreign nationals must know at least two of the languages of education.
ALES is not required for those who have completed their previous education outside of Turkey. At least "45" points in ALES exam is required for those who have completed their previous education in Turkey or it is required to obtain equivalent scores from an internationally recognized exam which is determined by CoHE.
Foreign Student Achievement Evaluation:
Achievement order takes place on the basis of GPA and by the evaluation of the Department/Art Major heads and Institutional Board decision.
